Kia Motors Mexico’s vehicle exports to the US has educed by 22% in the year 2017. Kia started manufacturing vehicles in Mexico two years ago mainly the cater the American markets.
In 2016, Kia exported 85% of its total production in Mexico to the US. This number reduced to 63% in 2017 and is estimated to remain approximately the same until the end of 2018.
Kia Mexico has started to export vehicle produced at their Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon facility to more than 65 countries since 2017.
Of the total 314,000 vehicles to be produced in Mexico in 2018, 153,000 will be the Kia Forte, 96,000 units would be of Rio and 65,000 units of Accent, the latter belonging to Kia’s sister company, Hyundai. Both sedan and hatch-back versions of these vehicles will be manufactured.
Kia Forte is one of the Korean automaker’s highest selling products in the US markets.
