The supervisory board of Kiekert AG, the technology company manufacturing automotive locking systems, has made changes to the Kiekert management board effective July 1, 2018 and reduced the board from three members to two.
Guido Hanel (50) has been appointed as new Chairman of the Management Board. He follows Dr. Karl Krause, under whose leadership the long-established company developed to become a global automotive supplier and who will leave Kiekert at the end of the month.
Guido Hanel has held senior positions at Kiekert since 2006. He was appointed to the management board in September 2017 as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to that, Hanel served as Executive Vice President for Program, Planning and Quality.
He began his career at Kiekert in Works, Fabrication and Production Planning with subsequent roles including that of General Manager of Kiekert’s largest plant in Czech Republic. Hanel also garnered experience in a management function serving as General Manager of the Stahlwille Group in Wuppertal, Germany.
He studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and received his doctorate (PhD) at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL).
The supervisory board also commended the success of outgoing Chairman of the Management Board Karl Krause. It thanked him for his long and successful leadership of Kiekert, particularly in respect of the company’s far-reaching globalisation. Karl Krause was appointed Chairman of the Management Board in 2007 and successfully restructured Kiekert with a new growth strategy
