The Italian multinational UFI Filters Group is to open its first factory in Jundiai, State of São Paulo, Brazil.
UFI has 14 plants across Italy, Czech Republic, Tunisia, China, India and South Korea, employing a total of 4000 resources.
Giorgio Girondi, President of the Group (pictured), declared that: “We have decided to open a plant in Brazil to be as close as possible to the car manufacturers and offer them a just-in-time supply. The factory in Jundiai will produce oil filters for diesel engines manufactured by General Motors Brasil at first. Our plans envision the opening of a Technology Research Centre and the establishment of a network of additional plants to serve the Mercosur area, the South American trade block.”
UFI Filters is headquartered in Nogarole Rocca, (Verona) Italy. In 2017, the company recorded €435 million ($535 million), (+ 5% YOY) and produced more than 70 million filters for the automotive (including Formula 1), agricultural, marine, industrial and mechanical engineering sectors.
